"And as our cover image this time, we
selected a painting titled “Souffle” (Breath) by Paris-based artist
Isabelle Augé, which was part of her latest exhibit.
… trying out
something new and different, which in this case was making use of a
painting from an artist I admire for our cover. I like the fact that in
the age of AI-generated images, we are using an actual physical painting
to communicate our message that interdisciplinarity is indeed the clear
path forward. Also, a big thank you to Isabelle Augé for letting us
use one of her paintings. Augé explained the medium she used for this
painting as pigments mixed with a natural binder, which smells of thyme
and rosemary essential oils and attracts bees when she opens the bottle.
One struggles to imagine an AI-generated painting that would attract
bees during the process."
